Yesterday was Father's Day! Dear Husband and I were fortunate to have breakfast with both Son and Daughter. Son left early to go back to work at the Boy Scout Camp. And we took our Sweet Daughter off the Girl Scout Camp. She won't be back for two weeks.
I thought that was a pretty good father's day present. No kids at home for a few weeks! Of course we still have all the pets and the gardens, so we aren't completely dependent free. :)
After Dropping our sweetie off at Camp, we continued on down to the Crown Valley Winery in Ste. Genevieve MO. Actually it's not IN Ste. Genevieve. It is 15 miles or so down a winding country road, located on a farm. The building overlooks rolling hills. It is a lovely place. They offer wine tastings, ($5 gets you a commemorative glass and 7 samples) and there is normally a band playing on Sat and Sundays outside on the patio. Inside and outside seating and basic picnic foodstuffs. The picture on this posting is the front of the building as seen from the parking lot.
There is also a Tiger Sanctuary and a Lodge and a Restaurant run by the same people located nearby. We were too late for Lunch on Sunday, but we are definitely going to come back and check it out sometime.

Ste. Gen is one of my fave places! We ought to go there together again one of these days.

Becky - As we sat at the winery tasting their stuff, Sharon said we would have to bring Becky and Corky here for some fun.
Count on that!!

Sounds like a perfect day.
You can't imagine the joy I feel when I hear of families having good times together.
It makes me so happy that Rose and Geoff are having such great summer experiences.
And am really happy that you two will be having two weeks of almost "dependent free" time together. ENjoy!!!
